Backyard Honey

People always ask us, "What flavor is the honey?." We tell them that it tastes like the sweet blossoms of their own backyard. Honeybees thrive when they have a natural environment and nectar variety. The unique taste, color and texture of Backyard Bees honey is different with each season.  We harvest our honey all year round due to Orange County, California's mild mediterranean climate. The lush local forage of citrus, avocado, sage, eucalyptus, chaparral, lavendar and many other small flower blossoms help create a unique flavor in every jar. We keep our honeybee hives in local backyard gardens  and they are treatment free--no chemicals ever used inside the hive. Each frame of honey is uncapped by hand, spun out and gravity strained. To keep the purity and wholesome qualities of the honey, we keep it raw and unfiltered.
